The Parker Duofold Range has been Parker’s flagship range for nearly 100 years. First came the Button Fillers of the 1920s and 1930s, mostly built in the USA with a few built in Canada. Then came the Duofold NS (New Style) another Button Filler but this time built in the UK. Then came the last of the Button Fillers with the Duofold AF (Aluminium Filler) also built in the UK as most were after WWII. Then came a range of Aerometric Fillers. These started with the deminutive Slimfold with No. 5 nib, with a slightly larger brother in the Junior with No. 10 nib, then the Standard/Demi with No. 10/15/20 or 25 nibs. Followed by the Senior with No. 35 nib and then the Flagship of the range, The Maxima with No. On sale here is a Parker Duofold Maxima in Black with a 14k gold No. 50 Nib, the flagship of the range in the 1950s. This is a lovely pen and a lovely writer with a wet /strong ink flow. This is an lovely writer and should be used. This pen would make an excellent addition to any collection and would be an excellent pen for Calligraphy writing. This pen deserves a writer’s home and should be used. Please note the Stand and Ink are NOT included in this sale. The hand written photograph was written with the pen in this listing. It should be noted that nibs are a personal thing. Nibs get used to the writer and can take a while to bed in to the new writer’s style of writing. You may have to change the angle of writing to get the best results. All my pens have been stripped down and fully cleaned and lightly polished to bring the pen back to full working order and to look their best whilst trying to keep the original feel of the pen intact.
