Please enlarge all 12 photos & read all the text for detail. 1940s Parker Striped Duofold “Blue Diamond” Fountain Pen – date code is 5 w/ 3 dots (1945) – it is 5 & 3/8″ capped, I think that length this makes this a “Senior sized Duofold – the Vacumatic filling mechanism works well as I received the pen, restored by the previous owner – The filler seems to work robustly. And it fills with ink & writes very well. It is in very good condition, problems are as fallows – the factory imprint is quite worn as shown, most likely due to a polishing it received at one point, But this polishing does not look recent- some of the imprint including the date code can still be seen. And the cap does not post, I do not know why it does not post, the cap just does not stay on the back of the pen – Other than this – No Cracks, No chips, No personal engravings, The cap lip is perfect – the cap threads on to the pen securely & tightly, as does the blind cap. The trim has no visible brassing , Tight clip & band – The pen’s color is perfect, the black top jewel is perfect – The pen has an excellent shiny finish, no heavy scratches, some micro wear, it is fairly well preserved and quite attractive as show, it will display very well. The clip has the “BLUE DIAMOND” logo, but it is not blue any more.. More of a grey black. Very nice Parker “Arrow” 14K Nib, the nib is a very fine point, Not a flex nib, just a tiny bit of line variation can be coaxed from it. But again, not a flex nib. Nice smooth writer the writing sample shown was made by actually filling the pen with ink & writing with it- the writing sample will come with the pen. I HAVE OTHER PENS LISTED.
