Item for sale is an English Parker fountain pen called an NS=New Style in khaki/dark chocolate shade. It fills from a bottle, a “top hat” style button filler that is accessed by unscrewing removing blind cap. During the war years 39-45, gold and plastics (oil based) were rationed, even the Parker factory in Sussex was re-designed to produce war materials. In 1946 Parker UK launched the NS. The one colour versions were either black or khaki/chocolate shade. Production runs were small based on a limited market-not a lot of consumers/income to spare on purchasing fountain pens! The NS had a short life, to be replaced by the AF (aluminium filler) which was less chunky/more streamlined and came in a range of colours. This particular pen is in really good condition. Glossy, no nicks, chips, teeth marks. The metal on cap band, the arrow clip show no signs of pitting. Finding a 75 year old pen in this shape, fully functioning is treat! Parker/PARKER DUOFOLD/registered trade mark. Blind cap with matching jewel to cap unscrews to access “top hat” style button filler. NIB: Stamped PARKER DUOFOLD 14K PEN plus letter N. (N is for Newhaven Sussex, site of the Parker factory). Pen is fully functional, button filler works well. I’d describe nib as solidly medium bordering on broad. These older model Parkers are getting harder to source, and this model especially since not that many were produced! I take E Bay seriously-see my ratings.
