This is the one! The HOLY GRAIL of PARKER 51’s. I have been hunting pens in the wild for over 25 years and my personal holy grail goal was to find a Vintage PARKER 51,14K Gold EMPIRE CAP pen in the WILD. Well, I still cant say I have found one, my daughter found this pen, and it was only the 7th pen she had ever bought! She took a picture of the pen and sent it too me, and at glance it looked like a typical 51 with a GF cap. She called me latter and said it has an “Icicle cap”. You can imagine my disbelief! I replied you mean EMPIRE CAP? Like the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING? She replied why yes!!! When I received closer photos, I was stunned! A PARKER 51 EMPIRE CAP! Unfortunately it did not have the Double Jewel Barrel, but I do have an extra one of those, because if you have a PARKER EMPIRE CAP 51, it really needs to be double jeweled. The PARKER 51 FOUNTAIN PEN found with the pen, the imprint is worn so I do not have a date. It is a vacuum filler with the plastic fill rod and spring intact. This pen does have the GOLD CLUTCH RING The pen is INDIA BLACK in color and is approx 5.5 in length with the cap. The pen has PARKER Hooded 14K NIB. The FINE nib is in very good condition with no damage and with both Iridium’s intact. This pen is 5 3/8 in length with the cap. This pen also has the GOLD CLUTCH RING. It is free of any cracks or major marks and is dated 1946. This pen barrel does have the name “ED A HURST” Engraved on the barrel. This pen’s nib is also in good intact condition with both iridium’s intact and is also a VACUUM FILLER with the fill rod intact. The 14K SOLID GOLD EMPIRE CAP does have a dent where the clip rested at one time, and also four dings mostly light but noticeable. The cap jewel is intact with no chips or nicks. The blue enamel on the Blue diamond is intact with none of the blue enamel chipped or worn. These EMPIRE caps are super rare in any condition, and NO pen collection is really complete without this one!
